ARC Raiders Extensive Gameplay Reveal Showcases Intense Combat Coming With The Extraction Shooter
ARC Raiders developer Embark Studios has seen its first real extensive look at gameplay in a recent video posted to the game YouTube, highlighting the exploration of its post-apocalyptic world and its intense combat.
The six-minute-long trailer highlights multiple facets of gameplay coming to ARC Raiders as it follows a three-person squad during October's playtest. The video starts off in the hub city of Speranza where players will meet up, gear up and head out into the wilds of a distant future Earth to combat hostile ARC robots and other players, all in the search of valuable resources to extract with.
Venturing out into the world, the team finds itself scavenging the Buried City of Southern Calbretta. The reveal showcased scavenging, gunfights between rival squads, and even how you can communicate with rival Raiders in the hopes of both teams getting out alive (assuming they are jumped by yet another rival squad).
The gameplay feels somewhat familiar, given we've seen other extraction shooters such as Escape from Tarkov, Arena: Breakout Infinite, Hunt: Showdown and many more grace our screens in recent years. Yet ARC Raiders feels more approachable than some of the more tactical and realistic shooters brought to market by Embark's rivals. Visually, the shooter looks stunning, running the same engine that Embark's other game, The Finals, is also powered by, Unreal Engine 5.
While we don't have a release date just yet, the gameplay reveal looks like things are shaping up nicely for the planned 2025 release. ARC Raiders is slated to release across PC, Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5 next year. Check out the gameplay reveal in the embed above.
