MMOFPS EVE Vanguard’s next limited time playtest event, Groundbreak, is set to start November 28th.
Running through December 9st, you’ll get to join 9v9 live insurgency battles, for an action-packed experience that will shape the future of New Eden. When you deploy to planets, you choose which faction to align with and jump into battle, working with your team to capture artillery cannons, bombard the enemy fleets from the surface, and stop them in their tracks before they claim planetary zones.
Maybe you want to play more of a strategist role, or you want to focus on gathering resources, or maybe you really want to fight and primarily play a combatant. You'll be able to join with others and even drive forces out of contested airspace to shake things up in the ongoing war.
Yes, your efforts in EVE Vanguard will have an effect on EVE Online. CCP’s Bergur Finnbogason, the game’s creative director, talked in a press release about how things have evolved in development.
“What began as a vision for a sandbox FPS has evolved into something far more ambitious,” he says, surprising no one, particularly with how the EVE universe has been expanding again recently with EVE Vanguard, EVE: Frontier, and mobile titles too.
“By connecting ground combat with the vast conflicts of New Eden, we're creating more than just a lobby shooter– we're building an ecosystem where every player's story becomes part of a greater narrative. This is just the beginning of our journey to create the ultimate connected FPS experience.”
If you want to take part and work with others to influence territory control, you have access to the next test if you are anEVE Online Omega member or you can check out the EVE Vanguard Discord, where CCP will also give out some access codes.
