A listing on the Xbox Store has revealed that Mortal Kombat 1's in-game currency, Dragon Krystals" can be used to purchase skins, gear, colour palettes, "and more".
Back when Mortal Kombat 1 was first revealed, the official site revealed that the deluxe edition of the game would come with "Dragon Krystals", an in-game currency that sounded similar to Mortal Kombat 11's Time Krystals. Although the currency was confirmed to be in the game and indicated some kind of progression and rewards system that could have money put into it, nothing was confirmed by Warner Bros. at the time.

Now, as pointed out by Twitter user thetiny, we finally officially know what these Dragon Krystals will be used for. The early-access version of Mortal Kombat 1 appears to have gone live on the Xbox Store, which means that all of the DLC associated with it has gone live, including Shang Tsung, the Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage, and a bonus amount of the in-game currency.
These items going live has provided us with a description for the Dragon Krystals. It reads, "This pack includes 1250 Dragon Krystals (In-Game Currency) to purchase cosmetic features for your fighters such as skins, palettes, gear, and more". It's not entirely clear what the "and more" part of that means since we don't know too much about Mortal Kombat 1's customisation options, but it can be assumed that it could refer to taunts, brutalities, and character introductions.
As of the time of writing, we don't yet know how much these Dragon Krystals are going to be sold for, as the only listing on the Xbox Store for them currently is the one that's attached to the Premium Edition
