Ah, Sonic Boom, that was a wild ride, wasn't it? Spawning three poorly received games (five, including browser and mobile releases) and a decent TV show, this series reboot stuck around long after its disastrous launch, as Sega really tried to get it off the ground. This didn't work, and eventually, we got Sonic Mania for our troubles. But just because Sonic Boom wasn't the hit that the devs had hoped for, it doesn't mean that its legacy hasn't lived on - even if it isn't on purpose.
Sonic Frontiers' latest update, Final Horizon, brings back one of the best things Sonic Boom had to offer: a Knuckles infinite jump. That's right, yet again, Knuckles is able to stop himself from falling through the air, maintaining his current height while he pulls off another jump. This is almost definitely not intentional, since the first Knuckles infinite was a bug. Nevertheless, it's an amazing callback, and fans are loving it.

One of the first players to spot this (probably unintended) feature is Twitter user Proto_arts, showing off the infinite jump in all its glory. Thankfully, unlike the Sonic Boom trick, it doesn't involve repeatedly pausing the game, just spamming glide and jump to maintain your height.
Better yet, another fan has already put it to good use. Here, we can see the jump helps the player reach a Chaos Emerald. It's hard to see how they'd reach it as Knuckles otherwise, so maybe this was intentional after all. In which case, Sega clearly isn't afraid of making fun of itself - or implementing pretty tedious exploits.
