Apple introduced an Action button for the first time on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, effectively replacing the mute switch but giving users an extra layer of functionality. However, some case manufacturers believed that the Action button would not materialize on any model, and in their lack of foresight, misdesigned the accessories to the extent that they now have to design and manufacture new batches for existing customers.
The majority of case makers do not have exact information available surrounding the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, and that is likely because Apple remains tight-lipped out of fear that the design of its next handsets is not covered by multiple media outlets. Though some accessory makers may have special privileges that allow them to mass produce accurate add-ons for the new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max prior to the official launch, others do not and have to rely on a multitude of rumors to get the ball rolling.
One of those companies happened to be Peak Design, and according to a Reddit post from the manufacturer’s founder, Peter Dering that was spotted by The Verge, the company did not have exact information in the form of 3D details that allowed the firm to know beforehand what sort of hardware changes Apple would bring to its newest ‘Pro’ lineup.
