The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models were announced last month with major changes in terms of the design as well as internals. The new breakability test is conducted by Allstate Protection Plans, a company that provides device insurance. As mentioned earlier, the devices part of the breakability tests are the iPhone 15 Pro Max going up against its rivals - the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy S23 Ultra, and the Google Pixel Fold. It is surely an interesting durability test where the iPhone is set up against two of the most popular foldables on the market.

Allstate first dunked an entire lot of expensive phones in the water for about 30 minutes and then began the horrific drop test. The drop tests were handled by an apparatus that managed to make sure that the devices dropped in the desired position. The back-down test was cracked and shattered, but it remained functional.  The iPhone 15 Pro Max failed the breakability test as it was completely unusable after the face-down drop. The screen cracked with shards of glass flying out of it.

Surprisingly, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Google Pixel Fold remained in working condition after falling face-down on the hard concrete surface. It took more than two attempts to render the screens useless. The devices were unfolded for the test. However, the outer screen of both phones shattered on the first drop.
