It's possible Thor: Love & Thunder will see Thor join his fifth MCU team — the so-called "God Squad." There's a sense in which Thor Odinson has become the greatest team player in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For untold centuries, he worked alongside Lady Sif and the Warriors Three, before becoming a member of the OG Avengers on Earth. Thor: Ragnarok saw him christen a new team "the Revengers," and by the end of Avengers: Endgame, Thor seemed to be joining the Guardians of the Galaxy. Marvel Studios recently released an official synopsis for Thor: Love & Thunder hinting at a new alliance. According to this summary, Thor attempts to retire from life as both a god and a superhero, but he's called back into action by the rampage of Gorr the God-Butcher. To combat the threat, Thor Odinson will seek the help of King Valkyrie, Korg, and even his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who has been transformed into the Mighty Thor. "Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late."
