Thor goes through a mid-life crisis in Thor: Love and Thunder, director Taika Waititi reveals. Marvel Studios is currently busy gearing for the release of Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but in roughly two months, the MCU will bring back an original Avenger on the big screen. Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role as the God of Thunder in Thor: Love and Thunder, making him the first MCU hero to get a fourth solo movie.
Disney and Marvel Studios just started the official marketing campaign for Thor: Love and Thunder with the release of its first trailer. Specific plot details are still scant at the moment, but Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) will be assuming her role as Mighty Thor in the film. Meanwhile, Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) serves as the narrative's villain. As seen in Avengers: Endgame, Thor will continue to spend time with the Guardians of the Galaxy before he's roped back to New Asgard. Unlike other aspects of the film, not much is actually known regarding the God of Thunder's personal arc. The Thor: Love and Thunder trailer shows him going through his healing journey following his traumatic experience in the Infinity Saga. But, as it turns out, the Avenger will continue to deal with internal turmoil in the blockbuster.
