The upcoming film will feature both Hemsworth and Portman reprising their roles, as well as Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Jeff Goldblum, and the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy.
Thor: Love and Thunder will be the second Thor film to be directed by Taika Waititi. He first directed Thor: Ragnarok back in 2017. The film is credited with revitalizing the God of Thunder's franchise through the use of eccentric comedy and the introduction of new characters including Valkyrie (Thompson), the Grandmaster (Goldblum), and Korg (Waititi). With Waititi also serving as a writer on Love and Thunder, this path for the Thor franchise will continue.

Hemsworth shared a photo of himself and Portman on the set of Thor: Love and Thunder, who both sport their traditional costumes. Notably, Portman has traded Jane Foster's mortal wear for an outfit suited for the Mighty Thor herself. Hemsworth's accompanied the photo with a caption that revitalized Thor and Tony Stark's age-old argument of who the best couple in the MCU is. Hemsworth also mentions the Met Gala, which took place on May 2 under the theme of Gilded Age fashion. His caption read, «Hey all, when's the Met Gala? Asgard's power couple just found the winning look,» before reminding fans of Love and Thunder's release in July.
