A new piece of fan art for Thor: Love & Thunder imagines what Gorr the God Butcher could have looked like if Marvel Studios followed his appearance in the comics. Thor: Love & Thunder is the next film in MCU's Phase 4, reuniting Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi with Chris Hemsworth for the character's fourth solo film. In addition to Hemsworth, the sequel will feature the Guardians of the Galaxy, the return of Jane Foster as Mighty Thor, Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie, and Christian Bale's Gorr.
Gorr the God Butcher is a new character coming to the MCU and was first introduced in the comic book Thor: God of Thunder #2 in 2012. Ten years after his debut, Gorr is making his first live-action appearance but with a very different design from the comics. The villain looked more like an alien in the comics, but Marvel has decided to give Gorr a more humanoid design and keep the actor recognizable. Instead of giving Bale's character an intricate design, Gorr has pale skin and a few scars, a decision that has been criticized ever since first looks began leaking online.
