Throughout the MCU’s Phase 4, the multiverse has been the major overarching plot point, yet Thor: Love and Thunder seems to be separate from this, save for one perfectly hidden link. While projects like Loki, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness have dealt heavily with the multiverse, it seems thus far that Thor: Love and Thunder will be mostly disconnected from that side of the MCU. With the sequel dealing more with the cosmic side of Marvel's slate, it makes sense for the multiversal links to be at a minimum.
This is especially due to the movie's obvious retelling of some of Marvel Comics' most major recent Thor runs. Thor: Love and Thunder is taking massive inspiration from Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor comics, adapting the storyline in which Jane Foster becomes worthy of Mjolnir. Also, with the inclusion of Gorr the God Butcher, one of Thor’s greatest antagonists, as well as the rest of the MCU's Thor universe, Thor: Love and Thunder has a lot on its plate without the multiverse coming into play.

However, while Thor: Love and Thunder doesn't seem to be an overtly multiverse-based movie, the official trailer for the movie shows one expertly hidden link to Phase 4's overarching plot point. One shot from the most recent trailer shows Jane Foster's Mighty Thor in a darkened room surrounded by many statues. One of the statues is of Uatu, the Watcher, from Marvel Studios' What If...? series. Uatu was the main character of the animated show, guiding the audience through the multiverse. This statue appearing in the latest Thor: Love and Thunder trailer is secretly perfect due to the subtlety of the link to the multiverse.
