A new Thor: Love and Thunder promotional video sees Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman argue over who’s the better God of Thunder. As his MCU follow-up to 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, writer and director Taika Waititi’sLove and Thunderis perhaps the most-anticipated superhero film of the year. Following Avengers: Endgame, it will see one of the last original Avengers return to the big screen and experience somewhat of a mid-life crisis. In addition to Hemsworth’s Thor and Portman’s Jane, the cast includes Jamie Alexander’s Lady Sif, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, Waititi’s Korg, Russell Crowe’s Zeus, and Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher.
Ever since Portman (who did not feature in Ragnarok) appeared on stage at 2019's San Diego Comic-Con, her role in Love and Thunder as the Goddess of Thunder, aka the Mjolnir-wielding Mighty Thor, has been highly anticipated. Thor’s hammer was famously shattered by Hela in Ragnarok. However, its broken shards are now in New Asgard, though what drew Jane Foster to a reforged Mjolnir in the MCU sequel remains to be seen. Regardless, previous Love and Thunder trailers have teased a hilarious dynamic between the Mighty Thor and her ex, the original God of Thunder.
