Spider-Man: Homecoming may have secretly set up the return of the Asgardians in Thor: Love & Thunder. It may have been known as the Realm Eternal, but even Asgard was ultimately fated for destruction. In Thor: Ragnarok, the God of Thunder chose to destroy Asgard in a last, desperate attempt to kill his sister Hela before she could wreak havoc across the universe. The refugees fled, ultimately establishing New Asgard on Earth. It's this resettlement that could hold the key to the Asgardians' future in the MCU.
There appear to have been around 50,000 Asgardians in the first Thor film, but tragically only somewhere between 3,000 to 5,000 escaped Hela's reign of terror and the destruction of Asgard. Unfortunately they were subsequently targeted by Thanos, and he slaughtered half of them as part of his insane agenda to rebalance the universe — meaning there are only 1,500 to 2,500 Asgardians still alive. The people of Asgard have suffered terribly, brought to the brink of extinction but somehow managing to survive.

But it's important to remember that, in Norse mythology, Ragnarok is both the end of one cycle and the beginning of the next. The Norse gods may have been wiped out, but it's entirely possible — indeed, even likely — they could return. Jane Foster's transformation into the Mighty Thor could easily foreshadow the beginning of the next cycle, despite her recent absence from the MCU. In fact, a small detail from Spider-Man: Homecoming may have already laid the groundwork for Asgard's revival, thanks to the inclusion and prevalence of the Korean Church of Asgard.
