Moon Knight cut references to the Thor: Love and Thunder villain Gorr the God Butcher. Moon Knight season 1, which premiered on March 30 and wrapped on May 4 on Disney+, introduces audiences to Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector/Steven Grant, the two alters of a man suffering from dissociative identity disorder (DID). After becoming an avatar for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu (voiced by F. Murray Abraham), Marc and Steven get drawn into a globe-trotting adventure involving Egyptian gods and Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke), a cult leader associated with the Egyptian goddess Ammit looking to exact justice on the world.
Now that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is here, Thor: Love and Thunder is the next movie on the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase Four release slate. The film picks up with Chris Hemsworth's titular God of Thunder after the events of Avengers: Endgame as he boards the Benatar with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Though Thor proclaims his "superhero-ing days are over," he must soon return to action and recruit the help of his old allies, Valkyrie, Korg, and Jane Foster, to stop Gorr the God Butcher (a new villain played by Christian Bale) from eliminating all gods.
