Moon Knight producer Jeremy Slater reveals three villains considered before landing on Ethan Hawke's Arthur Harrow. Moon Knight season 1 is in the rearview after audiences received a satisfying season finale that saw Harrow meet his fate in the backseat of a limousine. The latest MCU series to hit Disney+ told its tale throughout six episodes, following the complex relationship between Marc Spector, Steven Grant, and the Egyptian god Khonshu. With lead roles from Oscar Isaac as the titular character and Hawke as the villainous Harrow, the series has generally received critical acclaim, earning accolades for its acting performances and darker tone than previous MCU projects.
A villainous counterpart is almost as important to a storyline as a superhero and the various villains Moon Knight faced off against in the comics are in no short supply. Series producers had a vast pool to choose from for Issac's Moon Knight opposition, including Marvel Comics fan favorites such as Midnight Man, Black Spectre, and Taskmaster. So, although Hawke delivered an outstanding performance as Moon Knight's nemesis in the television series, any one of the villains Marc Spector goes up against in the comics could have made for an exciting ride.
