Moon Knight has been a huge success for the MCU and Disney+, and that could be down to its genius hero choice, one which avoided a Batman movie problem. Due to both Moon Knight and Batman being fairly stoic and cold-cut vigilantes, this opened up room for comparison between the two characters. However, the Disney+ show made one decision that made Moon Knight different from the Dark Knight.
Since the debut TV show in the 1960s, starring Adam West as the Caped Crusader, the Batman on-screen franchise has become a massive entity. Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale, and now Robert Pattinson have adopted the famous cowl, and the character has even starred in his own Lego movie. This, compared to the fact that Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight contract was just for one season, may make it seem like Batman reigns, but Moon Knight actually avoided one big problem that is common with the Batman movies.

The incarnations of Batman where he has been overly serious have naturally opened the character up to numerous jokes, as there is something inherently silly and odd about a person in an over-the-top costume fighting crime. Yet, Moon Knight avoided this, as the show introduced Steven Grant first. Steven is light-hearted, funny, and can appreciate how odd his situation might look to an outsider. By introducing this kind of character first, and then introducing Marc as Moon Knight (the more Batman-esque character) later, it means that the two work to balance each other out.
Part of this comes down to the MCU formula, as MCU films have a trend of never taking themselves too seriously. Thus, Moon Knight's serious side was always going to be balanced out
