Moon Knight season 2fan art recreates the Taxi Driver poster with Marc's alter Jake Lockley. Oscar Isaac stars as Marc Spector in the latest MCU Disney+ television series, a former U.S. Marine-turned-mercenary who serves as an avatar for Khonshu, the ancient Egyptian god of the Moon, and wrestles with dissociative identity disorder (DID), a complex psychological condition that can cause multiple, distinct identities. One such identity was Steven Grant, a hapless giftshop attendant at The National Gallery in London, who begins the series with no apparent knowledge of Marc or Khonshu. However, the Moon Knight finale post-credits scene revealed a third alter: Jake Lockley.
As a result of past trauma following the accidental drowning of Marc's younger brother Randall, and the subsequent guilt and blame placed upon Marc by his mother, Steven was created to help him avoid dealing with the pain. Although it is currently unclear when, Marc also manifested Jake, a ruthless killer whose brutality was only shown to audiences in brief glimpses of the aftermath. After defeating Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke) and Ammit, Marc and Steven were seemingly free from their role as avatar to Khonshu. However, in a post-credits scene within the finale of the show, it is revealed that Jake has not relinquished the deity from their body and kills Harrow in cold-blood.
