Focus Features has shared a brand new for its upcoming survival thriller movie, starring The Hunger Games vet Woody Harrelson and Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings breakout Simu Liu as deep-sea divers who must rescue one of their crewmates from getting trapped below the ocean’s surface.
The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on February 28, 2025. It will also be debuting in the same month as several other high-profile movies. These include the action comedy Love Hurts starring Ke Huy Quan; Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World starring Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford; Apple TV+’s genre-bending action thriller The Gorge with Anya Taylor-Joy; the romantic comedy sequel Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy featuring the return of Renee Zellweger; and Osgood Perkins’ Stephen King adaptation The Monkey with Elijah Wood and Theo James.
“A heart-pounding film that follows seasoned deep-sea divers as they battle the raging elements to rescue their crewmate trapped hundreds of feet below the ocean’s surface. Based on a true story, the movie is an electrifying story about teamwork, resilience, and a race against time to do the impossible,” reads the official synopsis.
Last Breath is directed by Alex Parkinson from a screenplay written by Mitchell LaFortune, Parkinson, and David Brooks. The film also stars Finn Cole, Cliff Curtis, Djimon Hounsou, and Mark Bonnar. It is produced by David and Paul Brooks, along with Hal Sadoff, Norman Golightly, Jeremy Plager, Stewart le Maréchal, Al Morrow, and Anna Mohr-Pietsch.
