James Gunn Celebrates Steve Agee’s BD With GOTG, Suicide Squad & Peacemaker BTS Images
James Gunn celebrates Steve Agee’s birthday with photos from the sets of Guardians of the Galaxy, The Suicide Squad, andPeacemaker. Agee has appeared in projects such as New Girl, Brightburn, The Flash, and the DC Universe’s animated Harley Quinn series. The actor and comedian is also a longtime collaborator of Gunn, making his DC Extended Universe debut in last year’s The Suicide Squad. On top of doing the motion capture for King Shark, Agee stars as John Economos—a role he recently reprised in season 1 of the HBO Max spin-off series Peacemaker.
Warner Bros./DC Films’ spin-off follows John Cena’s Christopher Smith/Peacemaker after being recruited by Amanda Waller’s A.R.G.U.S. to "save the f----ing world" in The Suicide Squad’s post-credits scene. Throughout eight episodes, Economos—who Peacemaker not-so-affectionately calls “Dye Beard"—contributes to Project Butterflies in its attempts to thwart an alien invasion. In addition to Cena and Agee, the series stars Jennifer Holland, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Freddie Stoma, Nhut Le, and Chukwudi Iwuji.

Saturday, February 26, Gunn took to social media to wish his longtime friend and collaborator, Agee, a happy 53rd birthday. Gunn’s post included behind-the-scenes images from Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 franchise and DC’s The Suicide Squad. Check it out below:

Peacemaker’s season 1 finale became available to HBO Max subscribers last week. Episode 8, “It’s Cow or Never,” sees Peacemaker and the team assault the barn where the butterflies are keeping their “cow”/food source and attempt to kill it
