Peacemaker's James Gunn is reminding fans that Bat-Mite is DCEU canon by sharing some odd Funko merchandise. The character was first introduced in Detective Comics in 1959 and has since appeared in a number of animated television series and video games. Similar to Mister Mxyzptlk, Bat-Mite is an imp capable of warping reality, using innovative technology from the Fifth dimension that is incomprehensible to humans. Recently, Gunn confirmed that Peacemaker made Bat-Mite DCEU canon through an Instagram post following mention of the character in one of its episodes. Not so much a villain as he is a mere pest, Bat-Mite has been affiliated with the Suicide Squad, and after the filmmaker previously stated that he loved him, fans have been wondering if he would actually be incorporated into any upcoming projects.
Now, Gunn is making sure that fans remember Bat-Mite is canon within the DC Extended Universe by sharing an Instagram photo of some Funko merchandise. The picture not only shows a Funko Pop! vinyl action figure of the character, but also a Bat-Mite soda can. He captions the image just like he did with his last confirmation by simply writing "Canon" and thanking the company. Check out the odd Bat-Mite Funko merchandise below:
