Freddie Stroma, who plays Vigilante on Peacemaker, recalls the one scene he could not stop laughing at. Created by James Gunn, who wrote and directed the bulk of episodes, Peacemaker premiered on HBO Max back in January. The series focuses on John Cena’s titular ultra-patriotic hitman and puts him in a team with Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brooks), Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland), John Economos (Steve Agee), Clemson Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji), and Vigilante. Working in unison, despite their myriad of differences and in spite of a tendency to get on each other’s nerves, they must work together to stop a growing army of butterfly-like creatures intent on conquering humanity.
Peacemaker, which has been a big hit for HBO Max, spends as much on the ragtag group stopping an imminent threat as it does on showing how the individuals in that group relate to each other. Frequently, over the course of its eight episodes, the plot hilariously screeches to a halt in order to allow Adebayo to debate the pronunciation of The Berenstain Bears. Other times, it’s Cena’s Peacemaker himself who will throw in a funny little dig at the cast of Riverdale. But, in a new interview, Stroma details a particular exchange that he could not stop laughing at.

In reliable Peacemaker fashion, an argument broke out and threatened to derail the whole mission. Stroma noted that the filming of the banter went on for a good while. And, each time, the actor could barely hold back his laughter. You can read Stroma’s quote below.
