With HBO renewing Peacemaker for a season 2, the series' star John Cena says a cameo from Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam would be "an honor and a privilege." The breakout DCEU show from creator James Gunn received high praise from audiences and critics alike, and with season 2 on the way, Cena is already answering questions about potential new characters. Season 1 of the action-comedy picks up with Christopher Smith after 2021's The Suicide Squad and follows him on a new mission to stop an alien invasion. Helping him along the way are a few new faces including Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brooks) and Clemson Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji), plus returning players Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) and John Economos (Steve Agee).
As season 1 wrapped up, HBO Max officially announced Peacemaker would receive a follow-up eight episodes, all written and directed by Gunn. After exploring the titular character's relationship with his father, Auggie Smith, a.k.a. White Dragon (Robert Patrick), as well as the introduction of new characters, audiences have started speculating as to what comes next. Amongst other things, fans are clamoring for Johnson to join the series as Black Adam. However, since Gunn is currently hard at work on Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it is unlikely there will be much official confirmation coming from the director on season 2 until that production wraps.

But in an interview with People magazine, Cena addresses the theories about a Black Adam cameo.
