James Gunn shares a step-by-step breakdown of the Peacemakeropening dance number that was perfectly drawn by an observant fan. It's only been two months into 2022, but Peacemaker has already made a play for the title of biggest show of the year. Gunn's The Suicide Squad spinoff began on HBO Max in January and, over the course of its first 8 episodes, built up an enthusiastic audience who tuned in week after week to keep up with the eclectic members of Project Butterfly. John Cena returned to play Peacemaker, aka Christopher Smith, as he embarked on a new world-saving mission.
Peacemaker featured multiple water-cooler moments throughout season 1, but its first came very early on. As in, within episode 1's opening minutes. Gunn threw fans for a loop when he opened the series with a dance number set to Wig Wam's «Do You Wanna Taste It». Each member of the cast, from Cena to Robert Patrick (who has been singled out as Peacemaker's worst dancer), participates in the absurdly perfect opening, which concludes with Eagly flying in to pose alongside his human partner. Not long after the show's premiere, HBO Max jumped on the buzz surrounding Peacemaker's opening credits and released it on YouTube for fans to enjoy over and over.

Now that Peacemaker season 1 has come to a close, audiences won't get to see the Wig Wam dance every week. Fortunately, they have something else they can look forward to: Actually learning the moves. Artist kadusaurus illustrated a step-by-step guide to Peacemaker's opening for fans to learn from, and Gunn happily shared it on his own social media page. In other words, the time to start practicing is now.
