Disney and Pixar’s is currently tracking to have one of the biggest box office openings of 2024.
Per Deadline, Inside Out 2 is currently projected to make between $80 million to $85 million at the domestic box office over the three-day Father’s Day weekend when it arrives in United States theaters on June 14, 2024.
That puts it in the same ballpark as Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two, which opened to $82.5 million, and Adam Wingard’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which opened to $80 million. Dune: Part Two and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire are the two highest-grossing 2024 movies in the United States so far.
Comparatively, 2015’s Inside Out made $90.4 million during its opening weekend. It went on to make $858.8 million at the global box office off an estimated budget of $175 million.
