New surprises are discovered every day in Phase 3 of Season of Discovery, and one Hunter Rune in particular did more than just unlock a new Spell — it unlocked the ability for Hunters to tame their own Core Hound.

How to Tame Your Core Hound
First thing's first: How do you unlock the ability to tame a Core Hound?
It's all connected to the Rune of the Ravenous, which has a quest chain that rewards the Infernal Lasso trinket.

Now that you have the Infernal Lasso trinket, there is only one step left: tame your own Core Hound.
To do this, you must use the trinket on a Core Hound. Using the trinket will Root the beast, and only when the On-Use effect is active on the pup will you be able to tame it.
