While exploring Hogwarts Legacy, players come across a memorial for the late Scottish actor Robbie Coltraine who Harry Potter fans may remember as Rubeus Hagrid. Since the launch of Hogwarts Legacy earlier in February, fans have been pouring over the game's take on the Wizarding World, which includes iconic locations like Hogwards School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Hogsmeade village, the Dark Forest, and much more.
Naturally, with such a huge amount of space to explore, Avalanche Software has made sure to hide plenty of secrets and Easter eggs for players to find. In fact, just recently, players came across a few nods to From Software and its popular titles Dark Souls and Elden Ring. The iconic bonfire can be found near a bunch of gravestones near Inferi Lair, as well as oversized gravestones sticking out of a nearby wall referencing the location at Limgrave in Elden Ring. However, the developer has also seemingly hidden small tributes to the Potter franchise as well including one to the late actor Robbie Coltraine.
Hogwarts Legacy Side Activity May Be Clever Ron Weasley Reference in Disguise
In a TikTok from a user known as Why..so.sirius, the player takes off on their broom from the clock tower, heading south towards a hut based on Hagrid's place inside of the Harry Potter movies. At the back of the hut facing the Black Lake, there is a small gravestone by itself with a carved Hippogriff on the front, clearly referencing Hagrid's animal companion Buckbeak first seen in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The gesture clearly touched many fans who have praised the small detail, even if it doesn't technically fit with the game's timeline.
