Fortnite has launched yet another Resident Evil crossover encompassing new skins and accessories based on Capcom's iconic horror franchise. The main contents of Fortnite's latest Resident Evil collaboration already leaked on March 10.
While Fortnite was already a global phenomenon by the time Epic Games started doing crossovers with other popular franchises in Season 4, which kicked off in May 2018 and featured content from Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War, the practice certainly helped cement the battle royale's place in the gaming zeitgeist. The developer has debuted well over a hundred such limited promos to date, collaborating with everyone from Star Wars and Tomb Raider to Eminem and Neymar Jr. Its strategy proved to be so popular that even Blizzard now wants to follow suit with Fortnite-style crossovers in Overwatch 2.
Fortnite's Latest Update Features Major Competitive Mode Changes
In the meantime, Epic and Capcom have teamed up for another collaboration, arriving a year and a half after the original Fortnite crossover with Resident Evil. The newly unveiled promo centers on Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield skins, which include Attache Case Back Bling and R.P.D. Keys Back Bling accessories, respectively. Leon's Combat Knife Pickaxe and the Umbrella Parasol Pickaxe are also part of the crossover, but both are sold separately via the in-game Item Shop at 500 V-Bucks each. The skins are 1,500 V-Bucks apiece, though Epic has once again employed a so-called popcorn pricing strategy by trying to tempt Resident Evil fans with a Raccoon City Survivors Bundle that includes all of the above and goes for 2,100 V-Bucks.
The crossover's timing is clearly meant to coincide with the impending arrival of the Resident Evil 4
