Although and the series have some drastic differences, there is one way in which the former could (and should) have learned from the latter. With games as old as taking advantage of similar features like stealth mechanics and fast-travel, it's quite surprising that 's own details failed to live up to its standard, over ten years later.
As unique as is, it's clear that it has taken inspiration from other titles, both from the series and the RPG genre as a whole. For example, the mechanics for learning spells in are an homage to movie tie-in games from earlier years. However, it seems that it could have benefited from paying a bit more attention to the series and its details.
