Hitman maker IO Interactive sets up shop in Istanbul
pcgamesinsider.bizThe developer of Hitman, IO Interactive, is opening a brand new studio in Istanbul, Türkiye.
As revealed on the company's website, IOI Istanbul is going to be a triple-A games hub which will be contributing to not only the aforementioned assassination-focused romp, but also the company's James Bond title – Project 007 – and the recently-announced RPG Project Fantasy.
"With a thriving tech and mobile development scene, we identified Istanbul as a region filled with talent that is furiously passionate, development-focused and technically creative," IO wrote.
"Istanbul is also a city rich in history, offering a strong cultural presence, historic architecture, astonishing Bosphorus views and vibrant and varied culture.
"Those elements made opening a studio in Istanbul a strong step forward for IOI’s pursuit of making impactful games on all platforms and for everyone, as well as establishing a foothold for triple-A development in Türkiye."
This is the fourth studio that IO has set up. The company has long been headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, but has since set up outposts in Sweden's Malmö and Barcelona, Spain.
