With Alan Rickman delivering an incredible experience in the movies, there’s a lot of pressure on HBO to cast a worthy successor. Adam Driver stands tall as the fan-favorite choice, but is that a realistic expectation?
Unfortunately, for fans desperate to see Adam Driver play the role of Professor Severus Snape, there has been nothing to suggest that this will be happening.
At the time of writing, there are only speculative posts and “fan-casting” articles that list Adam Driver as playing Snape. However, with no official confirmation, the casting for Snape is still very much not known.
While the fan-favorite choice is clearly Adam Driver, there are many reasons why it might not be him. One reason could be Driver having no interest in committing to what is likely to be a long-term role. Another reason could be the film’s budget, with Driver being too expensive to cast.
Until there is official confirmation or credible leaks, it’s not yet possible to know who will be playing Severus Snape and following in the footsteps of Alan Rickman.
