After a significant bug that granted an advantage to Player 1 was discovered in Mortal Kombat 1, NetherRealm Studios confirmed a patch was on the way. It was deployed yesterday but faced a “snag” that resulted in server issues.
Due to these unforeseen issues, the patch has been pushed to early next week. The development team is instead focusing on server stability. Maintenance mode ended shortly after, with the connection issues seemingly resolved.
As for the issue in question, it essentially allowed fighters in the Player 1 slot to land their combos while those in the Player 2 slot couldn’t. This is despite using the same characters and Kameos and executing the same combos. NetherRealm acknowledged the issue, though it didn’t outright state the cause.
Stay tuned for more details when the patch goes live. Mortal Kombat 1 is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. Check out our review here.
If you are experiencing connection issues, we ran into a snag while deploying today's patch. Please stand by as we work to resolve this.

Unfortunately, due to the unexpected server issues we encountered today, we need to push today's planned patch deployment until early next week. We want to focus on server stability before we enter the weekend. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
