The various layers of the Underworld in contain many reagents used for Incantations, weapon upgrades, Arcana Cards, and much more. Deathcaps, although still somewhat common, are only accessible under specific map conditions. To get this useful mushroom, players need to know where and when to find it.
Deathcaps are one of the few time-specific reagents in, only available on specific runs throughout the Underworld. Erebus is brimming with valuable materials. Silver, Moly, Myrtle, and more are frequently found and especially useful for the many different crafting pursuits available at the Crossroads. Before you can start any recipe that requires this mushroom, you first need to know where to find it.
Each run of Hades 2 ends differently depending on how far the player has progressed through the story. Here’s where the story concludes for now.
Deathcaps are mushroom reagents in that arefound throughout Erebus, the first layer of the Underworld. Unlike silver, limestone, and other materials, you do not need any harvesting tools to receive Deathcaps. Once you are finished with your encounter, look out for any large, purple mushrooms near the edges of the room. Simply walk over to the greenery and press the corresponding button to place the Deathcap in your inventory.
You can also find Cinders, one of the rarest reagents in, in Erebus, but you need to defeat one specific foe in this region to receive the resource.
It is essential to note that Deathcaps only appear whenever it is raining in Erebus. There are only two weather patterns in this first zone: dry and rainy. The weather for each run is seemingly randomized, so there is no telling when you’ll get your next chance to farm this useful reagent.
If you spot that it’s raining at the beginning of your run, make sure to look out for Deathcaps. So far, it appears that these mushrooms only appear in Erebus. Make sure to grab as much as you can before moving on to the next region, Oceanus.
