French antitrust regulators raid Nvidia offices
pcgamesinsider.bizFrench competition regulator Autorité De La Concurrence has conducted a raid on graphics giant Nvidia.
On September 27th, the government body wrote in a post on its website that it had raided what was simply named as a "company suspected of having implemented anticompetitive practices in the graphics cards sector". The Wall Street Journal has since confirmed that the outfit in question is in fact Nvidia. The graphics hardware giant has declined to comment.
According to Autorité De La Concurrence, this is all part of an investigation into the cloud sector and Nvidia's dominance in that space and how it could use this to use this to exclude competitors.
"Such dawn raids do not pre-suppose the existence of a breach of the law which could be imputed to the company involved in the alleged practices, which only a full investigation into the merits of the case could establish, if appropriate," the organisation wrote.
