Marvel Studios' Captain America franchise actor and Purge film series star Frank Grillo is set to headline horror film Man's Son in an entirely different type of role from his usual thrilling action fare. The screenplay is being penned by writers Josh Plasse and Brev Moss. Man's Son is notably being directed by Grillo's own son, Remy Grillo.
According to Deadline,Man's Son is being produced by Dare Angel in partnership with Mi Nene. Executive producers on the horror-thriller also include Plasse, Shakira Barrera, Conor Allyn, and Johnny James Fiore. Bobby McMichael, Chido Nwokocha, and Dennis Echelberger. Production is set to begin shortly, as shooting commences this March in Yucca Valley, California.

In Man's Son, the story centers around a young couple that is hoping to successfully tape an audition for an upcoming Charles Manson film. But when the couple chooses an eclectic desert Airbnb as their perfect backdrop, the dark elements of the audition material slowly slip into their reality. The couple eventually find themselvesintertwined in the sinister plot of an occult leader, who is being played by Grillo. Previous films that have famously included Manson as an element of the story include Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Grillo has been one of the busiest actors in the industry as of late, with over seven films already in post-production. His recently released films include Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard with Ryan Reynolds, Copshop, and Boss Level. Grillo's next film after Man's Son completes filming is the werewolf horror action film Year 2 from director Steven C. Miller.
