Captain America franchise star Frank Grillo has been cast as the leading role in the upcoming horror flick, Man's Son. Grillo is without a doubt breaking out of the comfort zone of his usual action-thriller genre that he is known so well for.
The screenplay is being crafted by writers Josh Plasse and Brev Moss. An important key detail to note is that the director of the horror film happens to be Grillo's own son, Remy Grillo — which the film is eerily titled after as well. The Grillo's are most certainly keeping it in the family business. However, it will be interesting to see the power dynamic shift from father and son to director and actor.

Deadline has reported that Man's Son is being produced by Dare Angel in partnership with Mi Nene. Executive producers for the movie include Plasse, Shakira Barrera, Conor Allyn, Johnny James Fiore, Bobby McMichael, Chido Nwocha, and Denis Echelberger. Production for the film is approaching, as shooting stars this March on location in Yucca Valley, California. Man's Son story centers around a young couple that is hoping to successfully tape an audition for an upcoming Charles Manson film. When the couple chooses an eclectic desert Airbnb as their perfect backdrop, the dark elements of the audition material slowly slip into their reality. The couple eventually find themselves coerced and inexplicably intertwined in the sinister plot of an occult leader.
This is where Grillo steps in, who will be playing the criminal mastermind. This is far from the first film to be inspired by the infamous Manson and his story. Previous films, such as Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, have borrowed Manson as a sort of chess piece to the overall plot of the film.
