Final Fantasy 14: Next Live Letter Set For April 1st, New Patch Likely Launching Two Weeks Later
Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker launched in December 2021, closing out a storyline that was a decade in the making. Many were left wondering what was next for the Warrior of Light after their harrowing confrontation in Ultima Thule, thwarting the song of oblivion and restoring hope to Etheirys. The answer was hinted at by the game – returning to a simple life of adventure – and it's possible that this theme will follow the storyline of Endwalker's patches.
Square Enix's team in charge of Final Fantasy 14 has slowly started to unveil the upcoming content due to arrive in 6.1 and beyond through Letter From The Producer livestreams, as well as Live Letters – the 70th of which is slated to premiere on April 1st. Given the longevity of their Live Letter blog, one can extrapolate when «Newfound Adventure» will drop based on previous patch launches.
Final Fantasy 14 Announces Patch 6.1 Newfound Adventure For April
Traditionally, the second Live Letter would always debut 11 days before the Final Fantasy 14 major content patch it showcases. There have only been two occurrences in the past 6 years when this has not been the case. This tentatively puts the release date for Patch 6.1, bearing the name «Newfound Adventure», for April 12th – with the new Dragonsong Ultimate fight arriving two weeks later on April 26th.
The content that 6.1 will bring to the game is substantial, as it will mark the debut of Endwalker's Alliance raid storyline, the continuation of the Manderville quests, a new Tataru questline, Endwalker's custom delivers, Ishgard housing, and an adaptation of all 4-man duties from A Realm Reborn (sans patches) to the Trust system introduced in Shadowbringers.
