However, none of them encountered any swollen battery problems until today, when a Redditor posted an image of the handset showing a bulge that slightly separated the bottom display assembly.
A Redditor with the username u/Leather_Cheerio_402 has said that the iPhone 15 Pro was picked up on a Monday, but the swollen battery was not noticed at all. It was only spotted after a case was attempted to be placed on it, and the accessory did not fit properly, revealing that there was a swollen battery that had popped up the lower part of the screen. Though the device still works, people in the thread have advised to power off the iPhone and not to charge it.
“Picked up the phone on Monday and didn’t notice it then. Put on a case a couple days ago and noticed it didn’t fit right. Was going order a new case but then realized the phone is actually swelling. Still works for now.”
The iPhone 15 Pro owner has also said that the nearest Apple Store was not helpful in the matter because when it was explained that the model with the swollen battery was purchased from Verizon, the individual was advised to visit the exact place of purchase. The iPhone community responded that this treatment by the App Store outlet is completely unacceptable. Regardless of whether the handset was picked up from a Verizon storefront, the Genius Bar should facilitate the owner.
