Apple's new iPhone 15 Pro models pack a lot of power thanks to the latest A17 Pro chip and upgraded RAM, Initial benchmarks of the A17 Pro reveal faster CPU and GPU performance. While the design and internal design are slightly tweaked, users have been reporting that their units are overheating. Apple is aware of the issue and has released iOS 17.0.3 with a fix for the overheating issue on the iPhone 15 Pro models. After testing the latest update, a user came to the conclusion that the issue had not been fixed.
It was initially coined that the overheating issue on the iPhone 15 Pro is due to the new A17 Oro chip which is creating a lot of heat. However, these claims were ditched by industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stating that the issue is unrelated to the A17 Pro chip but linked to the new titanium finish on the iPhone 15 Pro. It was also previously noted that the iPhone 15 Pro is overheating due to the Instagram app. Apple took note of the issue and released iOS 17.0.3 with a fix for the overheating iPhone 15 Pro models.
A YouTuber has now tested the overheating issue on the iPhone 15 Pro before and after installing iOS 17.0.3 which carries the fix to the issue. Upon testing, the user found out that the iPhone 15 Pro still gets hot after charging the device and performing benchmark tests. The user noted the temperature of the device before and after installing iOS 17.0.3 with a thermal camera and the results were quite surprising.
