Terminals are commonly found everywhere in , but only some are hackable devices you can only use if your character has the right perks. Every hackable terminal is found at various locations with different difficulty levels that only those with certain skills can try to access. A rare achievement/trophy can be earned when you bypass all the firewalls on these types of terminals in the Wasteland.

Hacking terminals can be part of daily challenges and world challenges available on the updated map of . Breaking the digital defenses of a certain number of terminals can earn you some rewards, but the whereabouts of different computers are oftentimes hard to track down. Nearly 90 hackable terminals exist in the open world with various difficulty levels that your character may or may not be able to access.

Like other games in the franchise, exploring the open world Fallout 76 landscape will reveal delightful surprises through some powerful hidden items.

While you explore, you may encounter Level 0, Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 hackable terminals that all have different requirements for your character to access. To 100% complete everything in , you have to invest perk points in certain skills to hack terminals you come across. Level 0 terminals are the only ones you can hack without any perks as you explore the Wasteland.

Getting the perk lets you access Level 1 terminals, but you have to obtain the and cards to access Level 2 and 3 terminals. Each of the cards you want is under the Intelligence section of your character's stats when you look at their S.P.E.C.I.A.L. spread. Once you have the right skills, you can try to break into any terminal in the world to earn the achievement.

Any perk cards you have can be equipped and unequipped at will from your character menu, so be sure to switch in the cards you need when you are trying to hack a high level terminal.

When you start hacking a terminal, you have four chances to guess the correct password before getting rejected
