During your explorations of the Vatican in , you'll come across a semi-optional Fieldwork sidequest that has you searching the city for a series of cryptic inscriptions. This is one of several Fieldwork sidequests in the Vatican area, which are designed to be completed alongside the main story. Fieldwork typically touches on additional history that doesn't factor into the main quest, or fills in some main story context with additional lore. "" falls into the latter category, helping to solve the mystery of the missing Father Crescenzo.
There are ten inscriptions to be found for "," all of them scattered throughout the Vatican, and many of them well hidden. While most of them can be found simply by exploring as soon as you unlock free roam, others require you to complete certain other main quests or side activities first. You'll get your first inkling of "" Fieldwork during the main quest "," when you arrive at the Vatican and go exploring some subterranean ruins with Father Antonio. This is a fairly linear area — follow the path down, swim through the grotto, and use your whip to open the gate. Inside, Antonio will find the skeletal remains of Father Crescenzo, along with his journal, which betrays an all-consuming obsession with mysterious inscriptions found throughout the Vatican. You literally can't miss this step, so just keep progressing the main quest until you find it.
Completing this main quest step also unlocks another Fieldwork quest, " ." Speak to Sister Catherine in the Sistine Chapel to unlock it.
Antonio then asks you, as part of the main quest, to return to him with photos of four inscriptions from anywhere around town. This is technically separate from "," but is a necessary step in unlocking it. Indy marks their locations according to Father Crescenzo's map, and heads out to search
