An announcement released via Fallout’s official X account let fans know that Fallout 4’s 4K ‘Next Gen’ update will need a little more time in the oven. The update is now slated to arrive sometime in 2024.
Originally announced in 2022 as part of Fallout’s 25th anniversary celebration, the free next gen update for Fallout 4 would release sometime in 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The update is said to include ‘4K resolution gameplay,’ performance mode for high frame rates on console, and a number of bug fixes for next gen consoles and PC.
With only a couple weeks left in the year and no release date in sight, it’s no surprise that the update has been pushed out to 2024, though no further details on when in 2024 the update would arrive were made available.
