Minecraft Legends will not receive anymore content or development updates following the release of the Lost Legend: Snow vs Snouts, Mojang has announced. This means that there will be no further Lost Legends, nor any more updates to the Marketplace. All the Lost Legends will remain free to download, and a final freebie to be given to all players is the Bright-Eyed Hero skin.
Snow vs Snouts changes the formula slightly for the Lost Legends content. In this update, players cannot build structures or control the mobs, instead armed with only the redstone launcher. That means having to attack the piglins from range. Those who complete this Lost Legend will gain the Snow Guardian hero skin. Even though development is ending, it has been confirmed no features will be removed from the game, and PvP and co-op will stay intact too. Technical support will still be available too.
In the blog post Christina Anderca, senior creative writer at Mojang, wrote, “Thank you for following along this heroic journey and helping us make Minecraft Legends the game it is today. With the support of our team, our partners, and the Minecraft community, we’re going to continue exploring the types of games we’re passionate about and bringing new experiences to the Minecraft universe. Together, we united the Overworld, made some adorably scary friends, and most importantly, showed those piglins that they messed with the wrong dimension, again and again. Keep your banners raised because the Overworld will always need a hero!”
In our Minecraft Legends review, Dom wrote, “Minecraft Legends captures the magic of Minecraft in a wholly new way. It’s chaotic, it’s creative, it’s competitive and it’s an absolute blast.”
