Seasonic will soon be introducing its brand new 90-degree angled 12V-2x6 power connector cables which will support the next generation of GPUs.
The 12VHPWR connector had a rocky start from its melting and burning issues which affected the top NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs. PCI-SIG and power supply manufacturers quickly worked on resolving these issues and incorporated the new ATX 3.1 / CEM 5.1 specifications which resulted in the birth of the 12V-2x6 connector cable. This connector and the respective cables will be shipped and bundled with the latest PSUs including upcoming GPUs from AIBs.
Seasonic being one of the leading PSU manufacturers in the industry has unveiled its brand new 12V-2x6 connector cables. These cables come in a 90-degree angled design in the L-shape. These new cables will be supplied with the latest ATX 3.1 PSU series and users owning a Seasonic ATX 3.0 PSU (FOCUS/Vertex/PRIME) can also apply for this cable to be shipped to them free of cost.
Users will have to confirm that they own the aforementioned Seasonic PSU and a graphics card with the 12VHPWR connector interface. The first users will be shipped these connectors on 10 January so we can expect a wider public availability later in the month. The launch of these new 12V-2x6 connector cables aligns perfectly with the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 SUPER GPU family which will be making full use of the new power interface as evidenced in the ASUS RTX 4070 leak here.
