Evo is going to be a truly massive gathering this year, having set a new record for registered players. But what do the numbers look like when you break them down by game? The PlayStation-backed event has revealed the figures for each tournament, and we're looking at some of the biggest competitions in Evo history.
Street Fighter 6 has once again attracted the most entrants. A whopping 5,265 players will battle it out with Ryu and the gang, and it'll actually be the second-largest Evo tournament ever — bettered only by Street Fighter 6's debut at Evo 2023.
Tekken 8 isn't too far behind, boasting an incredibly impressive 4,646 entrants. This is officially the biggest Tekken tournament in series history, more than doubling the previous Evo record that was set by Tekken 7 back in 2019. That's some serious growth.

He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Persona, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Trails, Tales — he's played 'em all. It's good to see Guilty Gear Strive up there in third since that is considered a niche fighting series. Tekken is my favorite fighting series, personally, but I end up playing Mortal Kombat and Injustice most of all just because that is what my friends like most.
It's wild to me Sony owns Evo, but has no fighting game(s) of its own.
I genuinely love watching competitive Tekken and Street Figther so I'm hyped for Evo. Will definitely watch Strive's matches as well, love my some Guilty Gear.
