The wait for the next instalment in Firaxis and 2K’s beloved 4X strategy series Civilization has dragged on far longer than most would have expected, but the clock is finally ticking down in anticipation of its release. Earlier this year, Civilization 7 was officially announced with a 2025 release window, and now we have a narrower timeframe for its release.
In its recently published quarterly fiscal report, 2K’s parent company Take-Two Interactive has revealed that Civilization 7 will release sometime in the final quarter of the ongoing fiscal year, which ends on April 1. In other words, it will launch in Q1 of 2025, sometime between January and March.
A specific release date is still unknown, but Civilization 7 is set to be shown off at Gamescom later this month, along with a a deep dive over 20 minutes long also set to be showcased by Firaxis Games on the same day, so it’s possible that we hear more about the specific launch date then.
Whenever it launches, Civilization 7 will be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
