Captain America: Brave New World star Anthony Mackie took to Instagram to share the first behind-the-scenes photos from the set of Season 2, confirming that production on the next installment to Peacock’s hit action comedy has finally begun. This comes after over a year since the show debuted its 10-episode first season, which garnered 400 million viewing minutes, making it Peacock’s most-watched comedy premiere.

Based on the classic PlayStation video game series, Twisted Metal is written and executive produced by Michael Jonathan Smith, who is also serving as the showrunner. The comedy stars Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, Will Arnett, and Joe Seanoa. Neve Campbell, Richard Cabral, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughans, Lou Beatty Jr. Season 2 will also introduce Anthony Carrigan, Richard de Klerk, Patty Guggenheim, and Tiana Okoye, with Carrigan set to play the recurring role of Calypso, who is known as one of the main antagonists of the original video game series
The series is executive produced by Mackie, Arnett, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Marc Forman, Jason Spire, Peter Principato, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Hermen Hulst, with Kitao Sakurai directing multiple episodes. It hails from Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, and Universal Television.
