Dark Math Games has landed a seven-figure investment.
GI.biz reports that the studio – founded by former staff from Disco Elysium studio ZA/UM – have secured the funding for its first project, XXX Nightshift. Estonia investor MM Grupp has provided the cash; the financial firm was also an investor in Disco Elysium.
"We're thrilled to include an experienced investor that understands and appreciates art as well as the video game industry specifically," studio co-founder and Disco Elysium executive producer Kaur Kender said.
"MM Grupp's backing will bring stability and long-term vision. We have done something great together in the past and are positive that we'll do it again."
MM Grupp CEO Kristel Volver added: "The [Dark Math] team has a proven track record, and the creative concept for the new game is both ambitious and intriguing."
Dark Math Games is one of a few studios that have emerged run by former ZA/UM staff. Another is Summer Eternal, founded by Disco Elysium writer Argo Tuulik.
