Two mods in the popular Destiny 2 game have officially been disabled. The game's developer, Bungie, has confirmed on its Twitter page that these mods, Reaper and Dynamo, have been intentionally turned off due to “an issue.” Based off the hundreds of comments on the tweet, many suspect the disabling of the Destiny 2 mods could be due to issues surrounding the exploitation of the mods, leading to numerous malfunctions.
The mod system in Destiny 2 underwent a major overhaul with the release of the Lightfall expansion in late February 2023. The expansion introduced various new mods including the Reaper and Dynamo mods. The Reaper mod is a popular mod in Destiny 2 that creates an Orb of Power after performing a finisher on an enemy. The Dynamo mod, on the other hand, reduces Super cooldown by a large amount for each class ability used. These mods have become popular among players because of their ability to provide significant advantages during gameplay.

Bungie has confirmed that these mods have been intentionally disabled due to an issue, however, the developer hasn't specified what the issue is. Some have also noted that the mods allows players to exploit certain mechanics. For example, the Reaper mod can be used to spawn infinite orbs of power for their team. Similarly, the Dynamo mod reduces Super cooldowns, allowing for the removal of cooldown for certain abilities. Some suspect these mods might have been broken and, therefore, disabled until further notice.
