Dave the Diver team Mintrocket has today announced the PS5 and PS4 versions of its 2023 indie hit will release on 16th April 2024, and they'll be available straight away via PS Plus Extra also. Current members of Sony's subscription service will be able to download and play the game without charge, granting them access to the original experience and a bit of Godzilla-themed DLC in May.

On the PlayStation Blog, director Jaeho Hwang shares a deep dive into all the minigames you can expect to encounter in Dave the Diver, including cooking, seahorse racing, photography, and a rhythm game. Hwang then added: «We set out to present different gameplay elements to create a new kind of experience, mixing everything from culinary showdowns to rhythmic reveries. And, of course, it’s all brought to life by a cast of charming characters.»

Dave the Diver has been updated to make use of the PS5's DualSense controller features, with haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers both utilised. Will you be giving the game a go via PS Plus Extra? Let us know in the comments below.
