Hades 2 developer Supergiant Games has announced that the technical test is almost over, and fans will soon be able to play the game through Early Access. Supermassive Games recently held a «technical test» earlier this month, which gave eager fans a chance to play Hades 2 early. This test period was different from Early Access, as the players were randomly selected from a pool who signed up for the chance, as opposed to being available to everyone.
Originally announced at The Game Awards 2022, Hades 2 is one of the most anticipated indie games. A sequel to the critically acclaimed original game, Hades 2 sees players controlling Melinoe, daughter of Hades and sister to the original game's protagonist, Zagreus. Like the first game, players dive into the underworld aided by various Greek gods and goddesses to fight their way through waves of enemies in a roguelike fashion. Fans who didn't get a chance to play the game in the technical test will be able to play the game themselves very soon, according to Supergiant Games.
In a new tweet posted to the official Supergiant Games Twitter account, the Hades 2 Technical Test will be winding down sometime this upcoming Monday, April 29. The tweet thanked the many users who were able to help the developers identify issues and other bugs that they weren't able to find before. After the test winds down, Hades 2 will have an Early Access launch after that «relatively soon,» meaning fans won't have to wait that long to play Hades 2 if they weren't selected for the Technical Test.
The Early Access version of Hades 2 will be available for purchase through the Epic Games Store or Steam storefronts, with this version getting continually updated before getting a full v1.0 update, meaning players won't need to purchase the game a second time if they opt in for early access. Fans can only get the Early Access version on PC, as it is only being sold through EGS and Steam.
